Nedlin & Christeyns: Sustainable Partnership with Energy-Saving Wash concepts

Nedlin has established one of the most sustainable laundries in Europe, and we are proud to have been part of that journey. As their longstanding partner, we have supported them with advanced water and laundry technologies that help conserve resources, reduce emissions, and enhance quality. We are both family businesses, sharing the same values: working closely with our customers, striving for excellence every day, and developing solutions that are practical, efficient, and sustainable. This shared mindset has significantly contributed to the success of our partnership.

HydRO: Smarter Water Use

In 2022, Nedlin opened a new high-tech healthcare laundry in Elsloo. Inside, we installed our HydRO system to treat and reuse water for both the healthcare laundry and the nearby hospitality site.

Stef de Win, Managing Director Nedlin states: ‘Energy and raw materials are becoming scarce. Water is a key part of that. HydRO purifies the water from both laundries. As a result, the healthcare laundry no longer uses any fresh water and discharges no wastewater into the sewer.’

Björn Frijns, Director Technical Affairs Nedlin, adds: ‘We also recover the heat from the water and reuse it in the wash process. That means real savings on heating and gas.’

Cool Chemistry: Clean Results at Lower Temperatures

From the outset, the new facility was designed to minimise its environmental impact, including ef-fective washing at lower temperatures. Stef de Win: ‘One of our key goals was to wash at lower temperatures without compromising on hy-giene. Cool Chemistry makes that possible. It’s a pH-neutral process that delivers a consistently clean and safe result. Combined with our water purification system, it gives us the quality we need.’

Process Guard: Consistent, Controlled Washing

Our Process Guard technology assists Nedlin in monitoring each wash from beginning to end. It ensures that every batch consistently meets the required standards. ‘We need stability, quality, and compliance. Christeyns supports us on-site, with the right technology and reliable service. It gives us the control we need to meet customer and certification requirements’, continues Stef de Win.
