Our super woman in trainers: MarathonWoman Hilde Dosogne
Let’s celebrate Hilde’s amazing – and ongoing – journey together! She’s not just our Senior Regulatory & Development Manager, she’s a force of nature, a beacon of determination… and a record breaker.
Having run over 150 consecutive marathons (the previous world record), she recently (30 May) broke the Guinness World Record by running a marathon every day in a row, for 151 days. But she’s not stopping there – her aim is to run a marathon every day for a whole year, bearing in mind that a marathon is 42,2 kilometres and that 2024 is a leap year with 366 days!
Hilde starts each day with a simple goal: to run a marathon. Rain or shine, she pushes herself beyond her limits and weaknesses, proving that an ordinary day can become an extraordinary one. Hilde is an inspiration to everyone in the Christeyns family… and beyond.
MarathonWoman, as the initiative is called, has the primary goal of promoting healthy physical activity for everyone. But running a marathon every day is not the goal, any physical activity counts. The important thing is to start, not to give up and to take one step at a time. The key is to start exercising and make it a daily habit.
Hilde is our super woman in trainers, but beyond using her feet to inspire, she also wants to touch hearts by running to support and raise money for a meaningful cause: The Breast International Group (BIG). The Breast International Group (BIG) funds groundbreaking research to improve treatment and quality of life for breast cancer patients.
Raising funds for research is vital because some of BIG’s vital studies don’t have pharmaceutical industry funding, and that’s where Hilde’s marathons can make a difference. Every step she takes raises funds, inspires hope and brings us closer to a cure. Her determination is not just inspiring, it’s life changing. After all, it’s not just about pink ribbons, it’s about saving lives.
Christeyns wants to encourages its people to pursue their passions, achieve their dreams and make a positive impact. We therefore proudly sponsor this initiative and looked for a solution that would give Hilde the possibility to combine her running dream with her job at the company. With an adapted work regime and a new colleague onboard to support the Regulatory division, Hilde was able to work part-time in the mornings and focused on running in the afternoon.
