Official opening of new state-of-the-art R&D laboratory
On Friday 6 October, we celebrated the official opening of our new R&D laboratory at the Christeyns headquarters in Ghent (BE). Employees were given the opportunity to discover the laboratory during guided tours and enjoyed an extensive reception, in the company of special guests including Minister Vincent Van Peteghem, Mayor of Ghent Mathias De Clercq and Alderman Sofie Bracke. The lab marks a significant milestone in Christeyns’ commitment to research, development and sustainability.
Designed with growth and efficiency in mind, the brand new R&D lab provides an ideal working environment for innovation. For the professional textile care market segment, Christeyns’ R&D lab is at the highest level worldwide. Together with application specialists, data specialists, sales and engineering, the R&D staff have already created groundbreaking sustainable innovations that have transformed the European laundry industry.
One of the advantages of the expanded new laboratory is the possibility of welcoming more students for final-year internships. Christeyns has had excellent cooperation with UGent, KU Leuven (Ghent campus), Odissee and Hogent and Tuinbouwschool Melle for many years for this purpose.
“With our new R&D laboratory, we not only want to push the boundaries of innovation, but also build a bridge between academic excellence and industrial success,” said Alain Bostoen, CEO of Christeyns. “This laboratory is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to sustainability and progress in the various sectors in which we operate.”
“After 12 months of hard work to transform an empty building into a state-of-the art R&D department, we are delighted to move into the space today,” adds COO Jef Wittouck. “The new laboratory represents an investment of around 2 million euros. We look forward to the positive impact this facility will have, both on our company and on the wider community.”
