Christeyns makes its first move onto the African continent

Christeyns continues its international expansion with the acquisition of a majority stake in Orlichem (Pty) Ltd, a South African manufacturer of industrial cleaning and hygiene products.

The agreement was signed on 23 February 2026 and came into effect on 1 March 2026 — marking a historic milestone as Christeyns’ first production presence on the African continent.

Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Cape Town, with an additional site in Johannesburg, Orlichem employs 45 colleagues and serves customers across South Africa and several neighbouring Southern African markets. The company offers a broad portfolio of hygiene solutions — spanning textile care, professional cleaning and kitchen hygiene — backed by strong technical expertise and a deeply service-oriented culture.

With this partnership, Christeyns further strengthens its global production network and establishes a meaningful foothold in the fast-growing Southern African market.
