Christeyns acquires the Grijspeerdt company located in Roesalare, Belgium. Grijspeerdt produces soaps and disinfectants under private label for wholesalers in Belgium. With the acquisition we want to further expand our professional hygiene department. Grijspeerdt employs ten people and had a turnover of more than three million euros in 2020.
Christeyns takes over all shares from owner and CEO Koen Dierickx. He took over the family business from Louis Gryspeerdt in 2000. His grandfather had founded the company in 1888. Since the takeover, sales have quadrupled. Due to the higher demand for cleaning and disinfection products in 2020, turnover rose to more than three million euros in the past year. The profitable Grijspeerdt company mainly has distributors among his customers in Belgium. The distributors in turn supply end customers in various sectors such as institutional institutions (schools, ...), catering, industrial cleaning, etc.
Grijspeerdt will remain an autonomous company and Koen Dierickx will remain manager. In addition, he will take up a product management position at Christeyns to harmonize the product formulas of the professional hygiene department. The company name Grijspeerdt and the production site in Roeselare will be retained. The employees can continue to work there.
“The acquisition is in line with our diversification strategy,” explains our CEO, Alain Bostoen. “Through organic growth and acquisitions, we want to increase the turnover of our professional hygiene department to 120 million euros in 2023. We acquired the British company Clover Chemicals in 2018 and the Spanish company Dydsa in 2019. We want to increase the division's turnover by 25 percent annually this year and for the next two years. ”
“We will strengthen each other,” says Koen Dierickx. “We want to sell products from Grijspeerdt to Christeyns customers and the reverse also applies. Christeyns will continue to make private label products for companies. I am looking forward to further expanding Christeyns' professional hygiene department in the coming years and I am pleased that I can offer the employees and customers of Grijspeerdt continuity by merging into a large and solid company. ”
We will produce for the Benelux at the sites in Roeselare and Ghent. Our professional hygiene division also has five production facilities, in France (2), the UK, Italy and Spain
