National Apprenticeship Week 2023
National Apprenticeship Week is the perfect opportunity to shine light on some of our apprentices at Christeyns UK, and the positive impact our apprenticeship programme is having to help enhance their careers.
Apprenticeships are very much a part of our business structure and play a crucial role in taking the company forward. We currently have 7 apprenticeships in place in various departments.
Providing young people with the right skills and opportunities is vital for the future prosperity of both our Company and the industry, and we view our apprenticeship scheme as a crucial part of the recruitment strategy. Our goal is to offer permanent roles to all apprentices who go through our scheme.
Meet Bradley!
Bradley initially started with Christeyns in powder production as a chemical operative via an agency. In late 2021, he joined us on a 2 year Business Administration Apprenticeship studying towards his L3 Business Administration qualification which he has now completed. Brad will also be starting his AAT level 3 in March through an apprenticeship.
“The Christeyns apprenticeship programme provides a great opportunity to work in every department of the business, personally giving me invaluable experiences I never thought I’d have the chance to do.
When I first joined Christeyns, I was unsure of the career path I wanted to pursue, but my apprenticeship has allowed me to discover what I enjoy doing and what I’m good at.
Now nearing the end of my programme, I am happily settled in the finance department and will be soon begin a course to study towards gaining AAT finance qualifications.”
Meet Violet!
In September last year Violet took on a 2 year Business Administration Apprenticeship studying towards a L3 Business Administration qualification. During her 2-year apprenticeship, Violet will spend time in various departments across all our operational units.
“Christeyns are very invested in their apprentices and I am extremely lucky to have been offered the opportunity to be a part of their apprenticeship programme.
Despite only being a few months into my apprenticeship, I have already developed both on a personal and professional level, and I am thoroughly looking forward to a future with Christeyns.”
Meet Tom!
Tom commenced his HGV Driver Apprenticeship in September 2021 and, following 18 months of training and immersion into the business, will soon be out on the road delivering chemicals.
“Making the choice to start my career with Christeyns through their apprenticeship programme has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Through my apprenticeship I have had the opportunity to gain the relevant qualifications for my role, whilst also working, earning and experiencing different job roles throughout the business.
Everyone is extremely dedicated to each one of our apprentices and it’s a privilege to work at Christeyns.”
