Christeyns UK win Bradford Means Business Sustainability Award

On Thursday 30th October, the annual Bradford Means Business Awards were hosted at the Bradford Hotel.

A team from Christeyns UK attended the event, after being nominated for the Sustainable Business award, and sponsoring the Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year Award.

We are proud to announce that we won the Sustainable Business award. Our application statement featured our innovations in sustainable wash processes, such as Cool Chemistry and PureSan, our water and energy equipment on customers sites, our energy saving lighting at the Bradford factory and our recovery of wash out water from chemical pump-overs amongst other initiatives.

Christeyns’ Operations Director Justin Kerslake said:

“We feel extremely humbled to pick up this award, representing the chemical industry, which is not always seen in the best light.

We work really hard and have done for decades to make sure our chemicals are safe to use and minimise the impact on the environment.

“There are some great competitors who we were up against, some great companies doing fantastic things in Bradford. We are immensely proud to win this award.

We supply hospital laundries in the UK so we have been working throughout the pandemic to make sure healthcare textiles are disinfected and clean. It has been a difficult time for all of us.

“Sustainability is really important for us. We formed a specific project team to see how we can take it to the next level. We are learning a lot and know there is more to do. It is very inspirational to win this award and it will spur us on in the next few years.”

We are absolutely delighted to receive this award from our local business community.
