Christeyns UK participates fifth Bradford Manufacturing Weeks
Christeyns UK joined local and regional manufacturers for the fifth Bradford Manufacturing Weeks event aimed at introducing students to the world of manufacturing.
Launched by Bradford Chamber of Commerce and backed by the Bradford Economic Partnership, Bradford Manufacturing Weeks brings manufacturers, schools and young people together to showcase the different opportunities that a manufacturing career can bring.
The 2022 programme ran 3-14th October and during this time Christeyns was involved in a range of activities including both apprentice and manufacturing-focused panels where students could ask questions, as well as a ‘Women in Manufacturing’ event.
This year was a great success, with Christeyns having 27 students on-site to participate in facility tours, and 16 students from both Woodhouse Grove and Oastler schools to participate in a designated ‘The Apprentice’ task day where they created a washing up liquid and pitched their product to a panel of Christeyns employees.
Over the course of the past four years the initiative has supported over 15,000 young people aged 14-18 across the Bradford region to gain access to the manufacturing sector. Christeyns were among 36 companies involved in the initiative, offering various activities to students from 40 schools and colleges.
