Women in Science Day 2021

Thursday 11th February marks the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2021. We took the day to celebrate the women within the Christeyns industry and celebrate our female role models.

Did you know that less than 30% of world’s researchers are women? Christeyns wants to close the gap.

Women with a scientific background are not only working in our science related functions as R&D and production, but also in commercial and technical jobs throughout our various locations worldwide.

Christeyns Food Hygiene’s Joanna Leech initial interest in science sparked from her studies at school.

“My interest in science came from the enjoyable learning experiences I endured in school. It fascinated me how scientific research, experiments and discoveries can forever advance and improve our daily lives.”

Joanna has worked at Christeyns Food Hygiene since 2014, and likes that her role within the business varies. From analysing to laboratory work, no two days are the same for her.

Christeyns UK’s Arianna Hunter has been with Christeyns for over 20 years.

“I loved Chemistry at school, it was one of my favourite subjects and I always found it interesting so it seemed logical to try and get a job doing something I enjoyed. I am proud to say that I work for such a well-established market leader and hope to continue doing so for many more years.”

We love to share our passion for science and powerful women.
