Young Friends and Family Members Are Introduced To The World Of Work
Young friends and family members were invited to Christeyns UK on Tuesday 4th April to attend an ‘Introduction To The World of Work’ day.
A group of 8, aged 13-18 years old, joined us for a day to participate in our task of ‘The Apprentice’, based on the BBC series. Justin Kerslake, Laundry Operations Director, introduced the group to Christeyns and what we do as a business, shortly followed by a tour of our site and production facilities.
The group then participated in various tasks, such as customer interviews, negotiation with ‘suppliers’ for prices of raw materials, calculating costs, and producing marketing materials for their products. The task finished with a pitch of their products to our panel of Directors.
During the day, there was also a question and answer session to allow the group to ask our employees any questions they had on careers and working life in general.
The day was a success and received some great feedback from the group.
“I enjoyed the day and found it a great learning experience!”
“It has allowed me to gain an insight into the various career options that are out there.”
“The day was very well organised, we found it very interesting and would definitely like to come again!”
