From a local Belgian company to an international group
1946
Mr. Jules Robert Christeyns founds a soap factory in Ghent, Belgium. The company Christeyns offers soaps and detergents for the Professional Cleaning industry, the Laundry business and industrial Oleochemicals (see GOVI).
1989
The Bostoen family takes over management of Christeyns.
1995
Christeyns starts looking beyond the borders. Various takeovers and alliances mean the start of a European expansion.
1998
Christeyns takes over Oils&Soaps Ltd (Bradford UK), specialist in laundry products and Concrete Admixtures (see OSCRETE).
2005
The acquisition of JohnsonDiversey laundry activities puts Christeyns at the top of the European laundry market.
2010
Christeyns extends its offer with the launch of a Food Hygiene Department.
2012
With the acquisition of Laboratoire Phagogène, Christeyns also starts in the Medical sector (see Phagogène).
Today
Christeyns is growing organically. Beside Europe, it is now active in the U.S., Brazil and in the Gulf Area.
Tomorrow
Christeyns will continue to invest in people and innovation, to fuel further growth both in geographies and markets.
