Christeyns goes Brazilian!

CHRISTEYNS BRASIL - PRODUTOS QUIMICOS LTDA was created on 17th March 2011 and, having incorporated the share capital, was registered at the Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo on 15th July.

Christeyns Brasil will have its headquarters in São Caetano do Sul in the state of São Paulo and will initially concentrate on the laundry activities in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Paraná and Santa Catarina.

The company is already in the process of applying for product registrations and expects to complete this by September 2011. A significant part of the products will be produced locally in Brasil and only a small part will be imported. The production and importation of Christeyns products will commence as soon as the proper licenses have been received.

Several laundries have already expressed interested in Christeyns and its technologies and the company expects to start selling its solutions from September/October 2011 onwards.

This move will allow Christeyns to expand its activity into the Brazilian market, whose economy is undergoing major expansion. With more than 190 million people, Brazil is the sixth most populated country in the world, the 8th largest world economy and is currently experiencing one of the largest global growths of today.

Christeyns believes that this is a big step towards establishing itself further outside Europe.

Christeyns is a Belgian detergents and chemicals group, with activities in a range of markets, completely focused on the B-2-B environment. The company has been transformed from a local business into a modern, professionally managed operation still privately owned by an entrepreneur. Head office of the company is located in Gent, Belgium, the group employs about 500 people in companies spread across 20 countries. Christeyns acquires MIDAC : another step forward for the Food Hygiene Division

Christeyns Italia proudly announces the acquisition of MIDAC s.r.l., a company specialised in professional hygiene systems for the Italian food industry.

MIDAC, based in Gaggiano near Milan, has been offering sustainable top quality products and excellent customer service to the food and agri sector since 1976. The take-over also includes homologations for disinfection and a full range of dosing and application equipment. The whole staff will join Christeyns and help the Christeyns Group to reach a consolidated turnover in the Italian market of about €20M. The company name will remain MIDAC until the end of 2011, in order to ensure a smooth transition of the customers to the new Christeyns world.

MIDAC’s activities will be led by Christeyns Italia as the Italian branch of Christeyns’ new Food Hygiene division. The acquisition perfectly fits in Christeyns’ vision on future development, with Food Hygiene as a strategic business in the company’s growth path.

'Expert' is the name of the game

Gent, 20 January 2011. Christeyns has merged its consumer detergent business, operating under the ‘BLAN’ trademark with the company called RemyCare, active in the distribution of a range of finishing products under the REMY brand name (www.remycare.be). Together they have formed a new company called Peritus Brands (Peritus being the Latin for ‘Expert’).

Peritus Brands N.V., based in Mechelen - Belgium, will be the sales and marketing company for Blan and Remy, two strong traditional brands towards the consumer market. It will have a clear and complete focus on consumer household products to the supermarket trade, and have the essential critical mass needed to support future growth.

Christeyns expects with this initiative to give a strong impetus to the Blan brand in a company with a clear consumer goods profile.

Gent, 17 December 2010. First introduced in the Netherlands in 2008, the Gentle Care Detergents department (GCD) is now ready to begin its journey within Europe, starting with the Benelux and incorporating additional countries during 2011.

The Expo Detergo exhibition in Milan was the perfect platform for the official launch. Our numerous visitors confirmed what we already been conscious of for some time: there is a need for a new, fresh approach to the dry and wet cleaning market.

Christeyns acquires Alcal – Kick-start for the newly launched Food & Beverage Hygiene division

Gent, December 3rd 2010. Christeyns, the Belgian chemicals and detergents Group is proud to announce that it has acquired all shares of the French company Alcal SAS.

Alcal, a local French player on the market of business-to-business detergents and hygiene solutions, was incorporated 25 years ago, and is focused on the supply of hygiene products and cleaning systems for the markets of food & beverage, foodservice and local authorities. In the last few years the company has successfully developed a range of ecological cleaning solutions targeted at achieving optimum safety with minimal impact to the environment.

Through this acquisition Christeyns acquires an extra production site in Rouffignac, in the Southern French Périgord area, and strengthens its network on the French market. Alcal’s activities will form part of the Christeyns Group, but will be run as the French branch of the newly launched division Christeyns Food & Beverage Hygiene, created in September this year. After completion the Christeyns group will employ about 100 staff in France, for a turnover of nearly 35 million Euro.

A definitely Green’R ISSA Interclean in Amsterdam

Gent, May 20th 2010. Christeyns’ presence at this year’s ISSA Interclean show in Amsterdam was an undisputable success.

There were a variety of reasons to expect a reduced number of visitors: the global economical and financial crisis as well as Eyjafjallajökull, the local Icelandic volcano.
But it seems our Green’R message and our boost to the Institutional market in Italy (Sadi-Christeyns), France, the UK, Morocco and other countries, convinced a lot of people to visit our blue-green world at ISSA Interclean.

Sadi-Christeyns - a new star is born in the professional cleaning market

Gent, December 18th, 2009. Christeyns Italy signed an agreement with the Italian company Sadi Chemical to join forces in the Italian market for the manufacturing and distribution of professional cleaning products. Christeyns Italy has acquired a significant percentage of the shares of the company which will now be called Sadi-Christeyns.

Sadi Chemical, an Italian company founded in 1995 and based in Lurago d’Erba near Como, has a strong reputation for quality products, a high level of customer service and flexible solutions. In 2009 it is placed in the top 10 of Italian companies operating in the professional cleaning market.

Sadi-Christeyns will build further on these foundations, whilst growing its market share through innovative products, systems and solutions and delivering maximum quality and service. This merger along with the synergies with other European Christeyns subsidiaries, will give Sadi-Christeyns an increasing international dimension.

With this operation, Christeyns strengthens its strategy of offering total customer solutions in sectors such as care homes, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, contract cleaners and caterers and dedicated distributors.

Christeyns announces further expansion into South East Europe (Bulgaria)

Gent, November 17th, 2009. The Belgian based Christeyns Group is pleased to announce a further geographical expansion by establishing its own subsidiary in Bulgaria as from the 1st of October 2009. After two years of trading with a local partner, CPN BG, Christeyns acquired their consumables trading business and the new company was founded. Within Christeyns Bulgaria, 3 dedicated associates will be working full time, supported by the corporate team.

Christeyns announces the acquisition of L.C.E. Odry, s.r.o.

A major step forwards in fulfilling its international expansion strategy.

Belgian based NV Christeyns is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Czech Republic based company L.C.E. Odry (LCE).

LCE was established in 2003 and has rapidly developed into a leading player in the industrial detergent market in the Czech and Slovak markets . In the last year a subsidiary has also been founded in Warsaw to be able to better service the Polish market.

LCE employs a dedicated team of highly-skilled laundry specialists, focussing solely on this market. It offers a full range of detergents, equipment and services to large professional laundries, offering real knowledge and added-value to its customer base. LCE has its own production facilities, based in Odry (near Ostrava ) in the Czech Republic , supplying both the home and export markets.

Christeyns has the ambition – in line with previous acquisitions - to build upon the strengths of the acquired business and to use the LCE infrastructure for its future expansion into the CEE markets. All management and staff will remain with the business, and a major investment plan to increase plant capacity will be undertaken soon after final closing of the deal.

“The takeover fits perfectly with the further growth strategy of our laundry division”, says Alain Bostoen , managing director of Christeyns. “With an average annual growth rate of over 20% over the last 15 years Christeyns had already acquired an international dimension.
